Isabella De Michelis di Slonghello, 42, Italian, is a VP, Public Policy and Government Affairs at Qualcomm Corp., the US giant semiconductor company (www.qualcomm.com)  In such role she leads for the company  the public affairs and regulatory agenda in Europe, Middle East and North African countries, including EU Affairs in Brussels.
Mrs De Michelis has worked over twenty years in the telecom and IT/technology sector leading several corporate/business development projects, including planning  and implementing  market access & regulatory strategies for large US and European companies. Her areas of expertise include spectrum policy, telecom regulatory, internet policy, trade policy, standards and IPRs, competition law and policy, data protection & privacy policy, government relations, public procurement, crisis management communication. Currently she is also in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the region.
Prior to joining Qualcomm, Mrs. de Michelis has worked for internet technology vendor CISCO System Inc., for ELSACOM  – a subsidiary of FINMECCANICA, for IRIDIUM LLC (a satellite consortium made of MOTOROLA and several worldwide telecom companies); for TELECOM Italia, for TELESPAZIO. Before joining Telespazio she started as an intern at the European Commission, DG Competition.
Mrs. de Michelis is a member of Qualcomm European management team. She serves as company representative in IDATE (F), Digital Europe (B); Intellect (UK), Assinform (Italy), AMCHAM EU (B), OECD BIAC . She is a member of the Alumni Association of IUHEI, of the European Women’s Competition Network and of a Board Member of Womens in Leadership Network (WIL).
Mrs De Michelis graduated from Geneva University (Law and Economics). She holds a master degree from IUHEI, having specialized in international economics and and from IUEE in european competition law. She holds an MBA from Scuola Superiore G. Reiss Romoli (the post graduate institution owned by former STET  Group now Telecom Italia). Married with an Italian entrepreneur, she has one child and live in Switerland. She is fluent in Italian, English and French.
