Nicola Whitehead

British, feminist and proudly European, Nicola has been WIL Executive Director and General Manager since October 2020. Her more than 15-year career has taken her around the world, from EU policymaking and negotiation in Brussels and Paris, to fighting to improve education standards in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. This includes roles within the Europe Parliament and UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and, in Brazil, the non-profit, philanthropic and social enterprise sector. Thanks to her international experience, she speak fluent French and Portuguese, as well as her native English.
