On the 12th October 2026, WIL Europe will gather at the French Senate for a special WIL Afterwork, featuring a conversation with Yoann Iacono, author of Les Frondeuses, the story of the first newspaper created and led by women.
Through his novel, Yoann Iacono brings to life the story of the pioneering women behind La Fronde, the first newspaper created, written, and led entirely by women. The discussion will explore how these women challenged the conventions of their time and fought for a place in public and political life — a story that continues to resonate today.
The conversation will be followed by a networking cocktail and book signing, offering out network the opportunity to continue the exchanges and enjoy a great evening of conversations. This event is open to our Members, Talents and Fellows who are based in Paris, or nearby on that date.

Our forthcoming WIL Europe Annual Gathering in Madrid on 6 November 2026 promises to be a standout moment for the WIL community. Held at the iconic Círculo de Bellas Artes, one of Spain’s most renowned cultural landmarks and a historic centre for ideas and debate, the Gathering will offer a powerful setting for this exclusive convening of WIL Members, leaders and invited guests.
